Whooohoo! I translated the assignment for Old French in less than an hour this morning, and it actually sounds like real German!
Considering I have had a grand total of TWO semesters of French and ONE semester of Latin in my LIFE, this is a very good thing indeed. The same assigment would have taken me at least two hours at the end of last semester.
Hehe... I may actually be learning something.
In related news, I've been looking at PhD programs lately, and the Medieval Studies program at Cornell looks particularly good.
Nice things to see: required for the program are reading knowledge of ... wait for it... French and German.
I think I can handle that. *grin*
