I read an LJ post tonight, saying that Starbucks was now selling 'fairly traded' coffee, and was therefore virtuous. I, however, was skeptical. I would have to seriously change my opinion of the typical American über-corporation.
I looked a bit further and found this article on Organic Consumers dot org. The article was generally well-written, although some references were questionably expressed (Europe's Nazi past? That sounds a bit drastic).
Needless to say, Starbucks didn't sound as virtuous as it first appeared. In any case, I've never had Starbucks' fairly-traded coffee, since my dad brews it better at home.

Why don't you answer peolple when they talk to you, are you stuck up?
I do answer people when I get time to look for comments, and actually find some. Sorry if you take offense, but I haven't ever gotten enough comments to make a habit of looking for them. It's more luck or coincidence if I see them here.
Pardon me, I'm realy not offended, I think it's command curtosy when someone speaks the receiver should return the jesture.....
this is easy when one is actually speaking... realize however that posting comments is not the same as speaking to someone face to face. It may take some time before the message is received, so some modicum of patience is in order...
I do beleive that the the spoken word, as well as the written word are all forms of communication. are not your thoughts attached to your posted comments.I think the written word works as representative in the person's absence, does it matter that your not face to face,is there a diff`erance, and yes I do realize.....
